I've owned a KTM 990 Adventure and two 950 Super Enduros, and a 640 Adventure, along with several 690s and a 525 EXC. The 21" front does tend to drift. more under high cornering loads on pavement on the heavy bikes. It will also lock up sooner under very hard braking than a 19" front will.
KTM 1190 Adventure Service Intervals. Like many KTM liquid-cooled V-twins, the KTM 1190 Adventure and Adventure R have 9300 mile / 15000 km service intervals, at which point KTM wants you to change the oil and oil filter and do a host of checks. The intervals are quite wide and it makes for a great long-distance adventurer.
dirtbikebagger Adventurer. I run synthetic oil in my 960 SE and change the oil every 2000-2500 miles. that doesnt make sense to me. i would be changing oil every 3 weeks, at $100 each time! why not just make it an even 500 miles to be safe. wasting oil is nothing to brag about.
Tires as needed. (totally depends on your riding style and pressure maintenance) Air filter cleaned at 10K mile intervals. Lube clutch cable every 5 K miles. 4.5 gallons of fuel every 175-225 miles (depending on how you ride) 2004 SV650N 33,000 Mi (SOLD) 2008 KTM DUKE 690 28,000mi (SOLD) 2010 KTM Duke 690 6500mi (SOLD) 2013 SFV650 7,400mi (SOLD)
I found out today that when you take your 1290 in for the 600 mile break in service, the techs reset the service warning light. When they do this they set when the next reminder goes. So mine just went off at 4000 miles. They said even though KTM suggests service at 9500 miles, they think that's too long and recommend an oil change in between.
Oil change frequency for KTM Duke 390 usually depends on various factors including riding conditions, climate, and type of oil used. According to the manual, the KTM 390 Duke has a relatively short service interval of 4650 miles or 7500 km.
